Five manes to rejuvenate our hair from 50
After a certain age, we need to counteract the loss of density of the mane that occurs as a result of hormonal changes. Hair becomes finer and appears sparser . Apart from the density, with the arrival of menopause a change of texture can occur in the hair, which can become more brittle and coarse.
While short styles like
the "pixie" help to rejuvenate our image, we may not be willing
to give up
our hair just for reasons of age . Or maybe we just don't fancy such a drastic
haircut.
Haircuts for
over 50
Because turning years
does not have to imply that we renounce to show off our hair, we invite you to
achieve it with strategic haircuts that are precisely in trend at this time. Haircuts
that help us gain volume and give our hair a rejuvenated appearance.
Shaggy
It is about that layered haircut that we can adapt to the length that suits us
best (taking into account the features). The key to the " shaggy " is that
it allows the volume of the sides to be lowered , which tends to
add years, bringing it to the top of the head, achieving that rejuvenating
effect so precious.
It also solves the
problem of volume that hair tend to have after 50 thanks to the work of layers , which will be
more or less long depending on the shape of our face. In this way, if we
have it more well rounded, we will tend to lengthen the top layer to lengthen
the features, while if we have a rather oval face we can play with shorter
layers from above.
And when it comes to
fine, bodyless hair, the shaggy cut is undoubtedly ideal for adding texture to mature manes
thanks to its layered hair. In fact, if we learn to style it with a casual
touch, we
will gain a lot in this regard.
As it is a cut that combines very well with
the «gringe» or curtain style bangs , we can add it to the cut to
give it an even more current and trendy style
(and by the way, hide some other wrinkles around the eyes and forehead). A
makeover that will take away our full-fledged age.
"Lop"
or "bixie"
The umpteenth version of the "bob" that has become a trend this
season. Being the shortest option that we propose in this selection for
women over 50, the "lop " cut also provides a
rejuvenating effect to the face without having to give up the short
hair. The key is that it combines several
"anti-aging" effects :
- It
reduces the volume on the sides and brings it to the top of the head thanks to the
fact that it is shaped like a «pixie» cut (although with the length of a
traditional «bob»).
- Provides texture and volume thanks
to the mixture of layers.
- Includes bangs , which
rejuvenate on their own, as well as subtly hide forehead lines and eye
contours.
- We can
give it great
movement with the use of specific products and
combing it with a casual air (the ends facing out, for example).
"Long
Bob" and "clavicut"
One of the tricks to get a rejuvenating haircut is to look for cuts that
provide movement, through effects such as asymmetries . The long
version of the "bob" (also known as "lob") is another of
the safe bets when it comes to getting our image refreshed for precisely that
reason. And it is that it is a cut with the same structure of a
"bob", that is, with the back part shorter than the front
strands to create that sensation of movement.
For its part, the "clavicut" is
lengthened until it rests on the clavicles , also with that
asymmetrical finish, slightly longer in the front. This gives a great
movement to the hair, which enhances that rejuvenating effect that we are
looking for. Furthermore, unlike the "long bob", the "clavicut" is cut with a blunt (uneven ends) to
offer a plus of texture and movement.
It is ideal for mature
hair precisely because it is a cut that provides volume and body , something very
interesting in those hair that has become finer and weaker over the years.
"Flop"
This is a version of the classic "bob" cut that is cut just above the shoulders , although with an even length , which will favor a sensation of greater volume, ideal for hair that has lost density over the years. It is, therefore, a full cut, ideal for styling broad faces (whether rounded or square) as it is worn straight and parted in the middle.
In the case that we are
talking about a hair with low density, we could compensate it by adding dimension to the
color through
the mixture of several tones that contrast with reflections like
"babylight". This coloring job will add depth and therefore
volume to any mature hair. Additionally, this type of highlights will serve to illuminate the face , something that
always manages to take years off, unlike dark tones.
Midi hair with
bangs
Since we have already
commented that age also has an effect on the appearance of the hair, with
exceptions (there is Demi Moore), too long manes are not recommended after 50 since they
only show these deficiencies. However, resorting to a "boyish"
hair is not our only option (as we have shown with the previous cuts), since we
can enjoy a short mane that matches our hairstyle and continues to
make us feel like before.
The medium trend hair of recent years is a good example and an excellent option to reduce the age of our face, especially if we cut it with topping and hidden layers that allow us to add volume and movement to the hairstyle. If we also combine it with an accurate fringe , a curtain or long and casual fringe , we will achieve our goal of rejuvenating our appearance.
